The Matriarch in a Nurse's Uniform

Cordelia, the matriarch of the Hamilton family, commands hundreds of billions in assets. To welcome her four-month-pregnant daughter-in-law Seraphina, she sets aside her emeralds and diamonds, dyes her temples white, and transforms into "Bessie" — a maternity nurse with thirty years of experience — all to personally guard the daughter-in-law she has never met and the fifth-generation heir of the Hamilton family. Yet on her very first day, she accidentally overhears her daughter-in-law's phone call: the child in her belly is not her son's at all. Seraphina, her lover Richard, and her best friend Lavinia are conspiring — once husband David signs the trust amendment, they will arrange an "accident" for him. Seraphina intends to seize the Hamilton family's billions for herself. To build a complete chain of evidence, Cordelia endures a slap to the face, and is mocked even after revealing her true identity. The security captain knocks her unconscious and locks her in the basement; her daughter-in-law strips and searches her, and her heirloom gem ring is crushed underfoot. After escaping, she crawls all the way back to her son — only to be framed by her daughter-in-law, who fakes a miscarriage and pins the blame on her. Her own son drives her out into the pouring rain. Cordelia collapses by the roadside and is rescued by the mysterious wealthy Sterling couple. Her son grows suspicious, and in the hospital ICU, he finally recognizes his mother. At the Hamilton centennial celebration, Cordelia steps into the banquet hall in a deep crimson gown, leaning on an ebony cane. Forty executives bow in unison — the "old nurse" they trampled underfoot is none other than the Lifetime Chairwoman of the Hamilton Group, the woman all of New York's elite kneel to call "Madame"!
