Plot
In a medieval gothic dark fantasy realm, the Council of Nine Kings controls the cycle of life and death. Every hundred years, they exploit the blood of the Aven clan to create vessels and reset the Lich King Cyrus with wiped memories. Forbidden mage Lois sneaks into the Styx Temple and accidentally forms a symbiotic ancient contract with Cyrus, binding them to share all wounds and lives. They combat undead rebels, expose the schemes of Lois' father Victor and priest Caleb who serve the Council, and ally with awakened Queen Evelyn of Holy Light. At the boundary between life and death, they rewrite the Styx Pact by merging two souls, end the thousand-year sacrificial cycle, and build an equal order for both living beings and the dead.
