Plot
A depressed modern actress transmigrates into the novel as An Aiai, a vicious princess known for extravagance and debauchery. Her original plan is to lie low and survive ten years to evade her tragic ending, yet she accidentally gets tangled up in imperial power struggles. She brushes off the male lead bodyguard Song Ying’s undisguised loathing and sends away the original princess’s entire harem of male favorites. Behind the scenes, she quietly lends her support to help Song Ying grow into a wise and virtuous monarch. Peace is disrupted by the arrival of the mysterious male favorite Nan (Xu Beizhi). He is actually the surviving heir of the former dynasty and the novel’s main villain—yet he falls sincerely for An Aiai. The pair shift from mutual suspicion and veiled threats to caring deeply for one another. After the dynasty changes hands, An Aiai lets go of all past burdens and leaves the palace hand in hand with Xu Beizhi to live a life of unrestrained freedom.
