Plot
Hannah Ellis comes from an unusual family—her mother is obsessed with dissection, her father has a volatile temper, and her brother, Miles Ellis, hides a deep fascination with the human body. Their mental states are anything but stable, yet Hannah does her best to keep up appearances. On the first day of school, Miles' close interaction with Hannah is misinterpreted by her wealthy classmate Mia Spencer as evidence of an affair. This sets off a chain of brutal bullying against Hannah at school. Mia and her clique humiliate and physically assault her, even stalking her to her family’s old house determined to expose their dark secrets. When Hannah is late returning home one day, it triggers a catastrophic breakdown within her family, plunging them into a state of utter madness.
