Lin Yi tried to pursue her, aided by Gu Nancheng, who eventually confessed his feelings. Traumatized by her past, Yang Yimo hesitated, until mutual struggles drew them closer. As the Yang family faced bankruptcy, Gu Nancheng came to her aid. Yet his brother and uncle conspired with Zhang Bing, stripping him of power.
