Plot
During an extreme New York heat wave, five-year-old Lily is left home alone by her gambling-addicted step-grandmother, who rushes to an underground casino. Lily gets trapped inside a rusty diesel generator cabinet on the balcony — the gravity latch cannot be opened from inside, and the temperature nears 50°C. Asthmatic, tortured by heat and diesel fumes, she finds an abandoned work phone and calls for help. Her father, a former Army Ranger, is stuck atop a high-voltage tower in a storm; her mother, a cybersecurity engineer, cannot leave a crucial meeting. Their friend Cooper races against time
